A Kallangur man has launched a campaign against cruelty after reading about the worryingly high number of local animal cruelty reports in the Pine River Press.
Ian Moses, a dog lover who has been involved with the RSPCA since he was a member of the Junior Chitter Chatters in his early years, said he was gutted to hear of the high level of cruelty.
As reported in the Press on September 28, Kallangur was named the fourth worst suburb in greater Brisbane for animal cruelly complaints.
'I felt gutted and knew then as I looked Paw Paw (his dalmatian) in the eyes, that something had to be done to address this cruelty and neglect,' he said. With this in mind, Mr Moses has launched a one-man assault and he hopes to engage the entire community.
'There are a number of things I want to achieve,' he said. 'Firstly, education is vital, as some people do not get what it takes to look after your pet and legislation also needs to change as currently the penalties are soft.'
